Dydd Mercher 5 Ebrill cawsom ein digwyddiad ‘Straeon go iawn … Achub go iawn’ yn Rendezvous. Dyma ddigwyddiad ar y cyd a gafodd ei gydlynu gan y Gaplaniaeth a Chydraddoldeb ac Amrywiaeth. Rhannodd y myfyrwyr eu straeon bywyd go iawn ar y thema ‘achub’ neu ‘cael eu hachub’ gan sôn am iechyd, caethiwed, perthnasoedd a diffoddwyr tân yn achub pan nad oeddent ar ddyletswydd. Cafwyd egwyl hanner ffordd drwy’r digwyddiad, er mwyn i’r myfyrwyr gael te, coffi a bisgedi a rhannu eu straeon eu hunain â’i gilydd.  Cawsom gerddoriaeth wreiddiol fyw o ddau o fandiau myfyrwyr  yn canu ‘Rescue me’ a ‘Save Me’ a cherdd yn cael ei chyflwyno’n fyw.  Roedd yn wirioneddol ysbrydoledig.  Ar ddiwedd y digwyddiad cafwyd cyfraniadau i elusen coleg, sef  Ambiwlans Awyr Cymru (a dyna pam fod gan ein straeon thema achub) ac aethom o amgylch yn dosbarthu bisgedi.  Codwyd £58.74.  Diolch i’r holl storïwyr i gyd am fod mor ddewr wrth rannu eu straeon gyda phawb.  Diolch i’r cerddorion a gyfansoddodd ganeuon mor broffesiynol. Diolch yn fawr i’r adran arlwyo am y lluniaeth gwych ac i’n hadran ystadau am eu gwaith gosod. A diolch i bawb a ddaeth draw i wylio a gwrando!

On Wednesday 5 April we had our ‘Real Stories…A Real Rescue’ event at Rendezvous. It was a joint event co-ordinated by the Chaplaincy and Equality and Diversity. Students shared their real life stories on the theme of ‘rescue’ or ‘being rescued’ touching on mental health, addiction, relationships and firefighters rescuing a gentleman whilst off duty. Half way through there was a break where students could have tea, coffee and biscuits and share their own stories with each other. We also had live original music from two student bands singing ‘Rescue Me’ and ‘Save Me’ and a poem performed live. It was truly inspirational. At the end we took donations for the college charity Wales Air Ambulance (hence why our stories had the theme of rescue) and went around handing out biscuits. We raised £58.74.

Thank you to all the storytellers for being so brave in sharing their stories with everyone.

Thank you to the musicians who wrote such professional songs. Thank you to the catering department for the wonderful refreshments and our estates department for setting up. And thank to everyone who came along to watch and listen!
