Yn Iâl roedd gennym ddwy helfa Wyau Pasg dros gyfnod y Pasg. Roedd yr helfa gyntaf yn ymwneud â dod o hyd i chwech o wyau ar draws y campws i gyd, gyda phob un yn cynnwys cliw a gwybodaeth am ŵyl grefyddol sy’n digwydd yn ystod y gwanwyn. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys Gŵyl y Bara Croyw,  Y Pasg, Holi a Naw-Rúz.  Ar ôl dod o hyd i’r cliwiau i gyd, roedd yn rhaid i’r myfyrwyr gwblhau cwis amlddewis. Y tîm buddugol oedd Anna Sandwich a gafodd 100/100 ar y cwis a darganfod yr holl gliwiau mewn 6 munud.  Roedd yn wych gweld myfyrwyr yn cael hwyl yn rhuthro o gwmpas i chwilota am gliwiau ac yna’n  treulio amser yn adolygu’r ffeithiau cyn mentro ateb y cwis. Roeddent yn dysgu rhywbeth newydd ac yn cael hwyl eu hunain hefyd.

Trefnwyd yr ail Helfa Wyau Pasg gan yr Undeb Cristnogol ac roedd yn cynnwys dod o hyd i 6 wyau yn y llyfrgell.  Roedd pob wy cynnwys dyfyniad gan Iesu,  naill ai cyn neu ar ôl y croeshoeliad a’r atgyfodiad.  Cafodd y timau eu hamseru a’u hannog i symud o gwmpas cyn gyflymed ag y bo modd. Wedi hynny, bu’n rhaid iddynt drefnu’r dyfyniadau i ddweud stori.  Cymerodd chwe thîm ran yn yr helfa, gyda dau neu dri o fyfyrwyr ym mhob un ohonynt. ‘Y Tîm Merched ‘ enillodd y sialens trwy geisio dwywaith i roi’r dyfyniadau yn y drefn gywir.  Tîm ‘CLN’ oedd y cyflymaf, gan fynd o amgylch y llyfrgell mewn 6 munud.

Diolch yn fawr i’r Co-Op a roddodd 12 o wyau mawr fel gwobrau ac wyau bach ar gyfer ein safle Glannau Dyfrdwy.

Crëwyd yr wyau mwydion papur gwych a ddefnyddiwyd yn ein Helfeydd Wyau Pasg gan ein myfyrwyr celf. Roeddent yn anhygoel ac mae’r Gaplaniaeth yn edrych ymlaen at eu defnyddio flwyddyn nesaf.

At Yale we had two Easter Egg hunts over the Easter period. The first one involved finding six eggs across campus, each including a clue and information on a religious festival that falls during spring time. This included Passover, Easter, Holi and Naw-Rúz. After finding all the clues the students had to fill in a multiple choice quiz. The winning team was Anna Sandwich who got 100/100 on the quiz and found all the clues in 6 mins. It was great fun seeing students rush around hunting for clues and then spending time revising the facts before taking the quiz. They seemed to learn something new and had fun themselves.

The second Easter Egg Hunt was organised by Christian Union and involved finding 6 eggs within the library. Each egg contained a quote from Jesus either before or after the crucifixion and resurrection. Teams were timed and encouraged to get around as quick as possible. Afterwards they had to put these quotes in story order. Six teams took part with two or three students in each. ‘Team Girls’ won the challenge by taking two attempts to get the quotes in the right order. Team ‘CLN’ were the fastest, getting around in 6mins.

Thank you to the Co-Op who donated 12 large eggs for prizes and also creme eggs for our Deeside site. Thank you!

The wonderful, papier mache eggs used in the Easter Egg Hunts were created by our art students. They did a fantastic job and the Chaplaincy is looking forward to using them next year.
