Dydd Iau, 28 Ebrill, cynhaliwyd digwyddiad mawr Lleihau Straen yn Iâl. I baratoi ar gyfer y digwyddiad, roedd y Gaplaniaeth wedi pacio 100 o fagiau nwyddau lleihau straen i ddarparu i fyfyrwyr i’w helpu i leihau straen. Yn ddigon ffodus nid oedd pacio’r bagiau yn ormod o straen arnom ni, ond mewn gwirionedd yn dipyn o hwyl! Am gyfnod o bythefnos, defnyddiwyd yr ystafell Gaplaniaeth yn y Gwasanaethau Myfyrwyr fel ystafell storio i ddal yr holl focsys cardbord roedden ni’n brysur yn adeiladu a llenwi gyda’r bagiau nwyddau. Roedd pob bag yn cynnwys amrywiaeth o nwyddau gan gynnwys llyfr gweddi, siocled poeth, bisged, loli, a dynion bach elastig. Unwaith i ni orffen pacio’r bagiau a’r criw ystadau ein helpu ni i gymryd popeth i’r CAD, ac ar ôl i ni osod y bagiau ar ein stondin, cawsom ein synnu ar ba mor gyflym oedden ni’n rhedeg allan o fagiau. Ar ôl clywed bod y bagiau am ddim, roedd pob myfyriwr eisiau un, a chyn hir roedd yna lwyth o fyfyrwyr o gwmpas y CAD yn llyfu lolis a rhai yn troi tudalennau eu llyfrau gweddi. Yr hyn roedd yn braf i’w gweld, oedd bod rhai o’r nwyddau yn rhoi gwen ar wynebau’r myfyrwyr yn syth, roedd o’n deimlad da i wybod ein bod ni wedi tynnu eu sylw nhw oddi ar y straen, am  gyfnod byr beth bynnag. Ar ôl llai na 90 munud roedd pob un o’n bagiau ni wedi mynd, oedd yn ddoniol gan fod o wedi cymryd ni dros 3 awr i roi nhw ati gilydd! Er mwyn sicrhau ein bod ni dal gallu cynnig rhywbeth, aethom ati i lenwi basgedi efo’r siocled poeth, bisgedi a chalonnau caru oedd dros ben. Fodd bynnag, aeth pethau’n dawel ar ôl ychydig unwaith i’r neges mynd allan bod dim bagiau ar ôl. Dechreuodd y digwyddiad am 9am a daeth i ben am 2pm a heb ystyried y nwyddau, roedd yna hefyd ychydig o drafod, cynnig clust i wrando a bocs gweddi rhag ofn bod rhywun eisiau gofyn am weddi. Ar y cyfan, roedd y digwyddiad yn llwyddiannus iawn, oedd bendant gwerth pob ymdrech. Gobeithiwn fod ein paciau lleihau straen wedi cael effaith positif ar y myfyrwyr ac yn sicr mi ges i amser gwych yn helpu gyda phopeth!

Ym Mharth Safon Uwch Glannau Dyfrdwy, ddydd Mawrth  26 Ebrill, mewn 90 munud mi wnaethon ni roi 90 o fagiau nwyddau ymlacio i fyfyrwyr Peirianneg Awyrennau, Safon Uwch, Mynediad, Gwallt a Harddwch ac Iechyd a Chymdeithasol. Roedd yn hwyl fawr!  Mae nwyddau ymlacio ar gael yn nerbynfeydd Llaneurgain, Ffordd y Bers a Llysfasi, i’r myfyrwyr hynny sydd dan straen ar hyn o bryd.  Gan obeithio y bydd y pecynnau hyn yn helpu myfyrwyr i fod yn dawelach eu meddyliau.

On Thursday, 28th April, there was the big De-Stress event at Yale. In preparation for this, the chaplaincy had packed 100 stress packs to give out to students, helping them to de-stress. Luckily, the packing of these bags didn’t end up stressing us but was actually really fun! For two weeks, the chaplaincy room in the Student Services was used as a storage room to host all the cardboard boxes we had built up and filled with the bags. Each bag contained a variety of goodies including a prayer book, hot chocolate, a biscuit, lollipop and a little stretchy men. Once we had packed all the boxes and Estates had helped us to carry them up to the LRC, we put them on our stand and were surprised by how fast they were running out. When hearing that the bags were for free, every student wanted to have one and we could soon see students eating lollipops or even flipping through the prayer book all over the LRC. What was really nice to see was that the sight of certain items immediately brought a smile to the students’ faces and it felt good knowing they might be distracted from their stress, at least for a short moment. After less than 90 minutes, all of our bags were already gone, which was funny considering it took us about three hours to make them! To make sure we could still offer something afterwards, we filled up baskets with the surplus of hot chocolate, biscuits and love hearts. However, things soon quietened down anyways once word had spread that we had run out of bags already. The whole event went on from 9am to 2pm and the goodies aside, there was also room for some conversation, offering an ear to listen and we have also put up a prayer box in case somebody had a prayer request. All in all, it was a very successful event that was definitely worth the effort and we hope that our stress packs have really had a positive impact on the students and I had a great time helping with everything!

At Deeside on Tuesday 26 April we gave out 90 De-stress goody bags in 90 minutes in the A Level Zone. Students from Aero Engineering, A Level s, Access, Hair and Beauty and Health and Social took packs. It was great fun! At Northop, Bersham Road and Llysfasi there are De-stress goody bags in Student Services for students who are feeling stressed at the moment. Hopefully the packs will help students feel more peaceful.
