Y Nadolig yng Ngholeg Cambria

Yng Nglannau Dyfrdwy

Creodd y Barchedig Sally Baird glychau lliwiau gwahanol ac roedd myfyrwyr yn eu haddurno gyda sticeri lliwgar. Cafodd y cylchau wedyn eu hongian ar goeden Nadolig y Gaplaniaeth i greu trefniant Nadoligaidd hyfryd tu ôl i’r ddesg Gaplaniaeth.

Yn Iâl

Ar ddechrau mis Rhagfyr creodd gwirfoddolwyr y gaplaniaeth addurniadau Nadolig allan o bapur lliw. Aethant o amgylch y coleg yn gofyn i fyfyrwyr pa anrheg hoffent roi neu dderbyn y Nadolig hwn, ond nid oedd rhaid i’r rhodd fod yn rhywbeth corfforol fel gliniadur, gall fod yn rhywbeth fel rhodd o gyfeillgarwch neu heddwch. Ysgrifennwyd yr atebion ar yr addurniadau, rhai wedi’u haddurno gan wirfoddolwyr y gaplaniaeth ac eraill gan fyfyrwyr, a’u hongian ar y goeden Nadolig yn Llyfrgell Iâl.

Cynhaliodd y Gaplaniaeth Gwasanaeth Carolau Nadolig gyda chôr y coleg ddydd Iau 10 Rhagfyr ar y buarth o flaen y dderbynfa. Roedd yn cynnwys carolau traddodiadol a darlleniadau o’r Beibl yn Saesneg ac yn y Gymraeg, wedi’u darllen gan aelodau’r Undeb Cristnogol. Hefyd, casglwyd cyfraniadau er budd Macmillan (elusen y coleg eleni).

I gloi, cynhaliodd yr Undeb Cristnogol stondin Nadoligaidd tu allan i’r Llyfrgell dydd Mawrth 15 Rhagfyr. Roedd yna set Stori’r Nadolig ac aelodau’r UC yn gofyn i fyfyrwyr a staff i ysgrifennu ar post-it yr hyn yr oeddent yn hoffi a ddim yn hoffi am y Nadolig. Roeddynt hefyd yn derbyn rhodd a loli pop am ddim. Roedd gan rhai hyd yn oed yr amser i lenwi cwis sydyn am stori’r Nadolig.

At Deeside

Rev Sally Baird made different coloured bells and had students decorate them with colourful stickers. These were then hung on the Chaplaincy Christmas tree to make a beautiful festive arrangement behind the Chaplaincy Desk.

At Yale

At the beginning of December chaplaincy volunteers made Christmas decorations out of coloured paper. They then went around the college asking students what gift they would like to give or receive this Christmas, this however didn’t have to be something physical like a laptop instead it could be something like the gift of friendship or peace. This was then written on the decorations, some of which were decorated by chaplaincy volunteers and others by students, and hung on the Christmas tree in Yale’s LRC.

The Chaplaincy held a Christmas Carol Service with the college choir on Thursday 10th December in the main courtyard. It featured traditional carols and Bible readings in both English and Welsh, read by members of the Christian Union. Donations were also collected for Macmillan (the college charity).

Finally on Tuesday 15 December the Christian Union (CU) held a Christmas stall outside the LRC. It featured a Nativity set and members of CU asked passing students and staff to write on post-it note what they liked and didn’t like about Christmas. They were also given a free gift and lollipop. Some even had time to fill in a quick quiz about the Christmas story.
