An Act of Kindness every day

It all started over a year ago. Exams were looming, everyone was stressed, teachers as well as students. A conversation started – What could help everyone to de-stress? Something needed to happen in college to distract people a little bit from all the pressure, bring a smile to their faces, and make them happy. And then Teresa came up with a brainwave. A Random Act of Kindness Week! That would do the trick! After all what could make you happier than having someone randomly do something kind to you? There’s only one thing better than that, and it would be thinking of something kind you could do for someone else!

Random Act of Kindness Week didn’t happen then, but the seed was sown, and in the months since Teresa suggested her great idea it has taken root and spread. So now the time has come! Starting on Monday 5th October everyone in college is invited to do an act of kindness for someone else every day. Only one – but of course, more would be better! And to make sure those acts of kindness are recognised and remembered everyone is invited to write about them on post-it notes and stick them up in the LRC for everyone else to see. Inspiring! Make sure you go to look at them each day and see just how much kindness is circulating around college!

So what are you going to do?

A tree is known by its fruit; a man by his deeds. A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.
